I have no idea why, but postfix + ubuntu + sasl (cyrus-type) are stupidly unhappy… and honestly I’m tired it it.
There are two parts to the serial-console-game:
1) vm base config (guest hardware config)
2) vm software config
Shortened steps that work, creating a KVM instance on an Ubuntu Lucid host server.
Build a basic KVM guest on:
o 192.168.122.1 - default-gw
o 4GB RAM
o 100GB disk partition
o ubuntu Lucid
This uses these simple tools:
o a camera (for the jpeg)
o a computer (for the conversion)
o netpbm utils for jpeg->postscript conversion
o ghostscript for postscript -> pdf conversion
o pdfjam (to stitch the PDF files into a single file)
